Should I replace my old metal fillings?

Conservative treatment is the ultimate filling that up until a few years ago was mainly carried out with silver amalgam. Amalgam is a metallic material, based on mercury, which stands for the color gray, the center of attention in recent years for its alleged toxicity.

The toxicity of amalgam is still a fact to be proved, and the alarmism created around this material, in use for nearly a century, is excessive. The real problem is rather the power of polluting waste of mercurial compounds, not only of the amalgam, but all preparations or instruments containing mercury. The real limit is rather an aesthetic amalgam. This is the main reason for which has now gone into disuse replaced by materials with better aesthetics.
